This week we've had two work experience students with us from St. Ninian's High School from Year 10, Niamh Page and Nicole Haslett. Both of them are passionate about the arts and have certainly brought a smile to everyone's faces in the office, particularly during such an uncertain time on the island. Despite many of their planned activities unfortunately being cancelled due to an increased atmosphere of self-isolation, their spirit has remained unshaken and their enthusiasm has been a welcome addition to our usual working week. We caught up with the two of them about how they've found it all.

Meetings, creating posters, creating a magazine, sorting art work, meeting the team, gaiety tour
My favourite job was making the posters and the magazine because it was creative and we could design them how ever we wanted. My favourite experience was the gaiety theatre tour because it was very interesting and fun.
I did not know that the arts council has an art collection.
I do ballroom dancing, I play guitar at school and I teach myself chords outside of school, and I also do compositions in my music lessons.
Through the school, or word of mouth.
I really enjoy music: like playing guitar and producing music, so I would love to have a career in the arts, because I feel like it would be really fun and interesting.
I believe the arts council is extremely important because it helps connect all the people with the same interests can connect and help each other through the arts.

Making the Magazine
Because it forced me and Nicole to be more creative and was a fun new experience.
I didn’t know you were teamed up with culture vannin.
I do dancing, Art, Drama
Through word of mouth.
I’m not really sure, but it would be a very interesting and fun career.
I love to do art and to dance, so if I had a career in the arts, I would hope to have it in one of those areas.
Yes I do because it makes sure that everyone that wants to can get involved with the arts, and that art gets the awareness that it deserves.
