Vice Chair of the Isle of Man Arts Council

Phil is a Chartered Architect and Director of one of the Island's foremost Architects who have been responsible for some of the most significant buildings on the Isle of Man over the last 30 years. In addition to having worked oversees, London and ran an office in the Lake District Phil has always had an interest in the visual Arts. He was a past Director and Chairman of the Sayle Gallery (formerly the Courtyard) and oversaw the transition from Tynwald Mills to its present location in Douglas.

A particular interest whilst having served as a member of the Arts Council for 4 years previously has been the management and growth of the Art loan collection.

Phil firmly believes that the Arts are notably a part of our cultural identity – who we are, but provides an important dimension also to our overall quality of life.

Phil is very supportive of the Arts in all forms.

Joined the Arts Council in 2016
