Ambassadors and Patrons

Ambassadors and Patrons Photo by Isle of Man Arts Council

As part of the legacy of the Island of Culture in 2014 the Isle of Man Arts Council appointed two patrons and four ambassadors.

The ambassadors included recently retired President of Tynwald Clare Christian OBE, who still continues to be a patron of the Arts Council today, and former patron, renowned artist Michael Sandle, a member of the prestigious Royal Academy of Arts.

The four Arts Ambassadors include solo contemporary dancer, Lloyd Mayer, singer/actor Michelle Jamieson, singer/songwriter/musician Davy Knowles and principle trumpet player Jason Evans.

They will assist us in promoting and inspiring participation, creativity and excellence in the arts and culture, strengthening our links to the community and promoting our strong Manx identity.

These appointments are a reflection of the esteem in which the Arts Council and our cultural community hold them.

–Geoff Corkish MBE MLC, previous Chairman of the Arts Council
