Chrissie Moss

Born in Lancashire to family of artists and teachers, Chrissie went on to qualify as a Technical Illustrator at Blackpool college of art and technology. This lead to a move to Derbyshire and work in Industry and the commercial art world, she produced artwork for companies such as Rolls Royce, The Sunday Times books and Hamlyns.

When she married Chrissie left work to start a family, as the children grew she became a freelance artist where she continued to work for a variety of clients but concentrating on natural subjects, including nature book illustrations and producing her own Birds in Derbyshire calendar.

In 1999 Chrissie went to Sheffield University and gained a qualification in Botanical illustration and a Teachers certificate which lead to her to delivering Art classes to Adults. During this time Chrissie held many exhibitions across Derbyshire and also had work exhibited at the RHS and had work published in 'Wild flowers of the Peak District’ book.

In 2016 a move to the IOM to be closer to family became the next chapter in her career, now influenced by the beautiful landscape, flora and fauna and people, Chrissie has settled into her new home and art world having many successful exhibitions across the Island both as an individual and with other artists, the most recent being for the ‘Art in Nature Exhibition at the House of Manannan. She also produces commissioned work and is especially known for dog, horse and cat portraits, but also birds and landscapes. Chrissie works in a variety of mediums and is currently using; gouache, watercolour, pen and ink and pencil.
