National Tree Week Artist Feature Graham Hall
To celebrate National Tree Week (27th November to 5th December) we are showcasing some of the Island's artists, who use trees in their work.
Continuing our showcase of the Island's artists that use trees in their work, is artist Graham Hall who uses trees as part of his Artforms from Nature work.
"At 15 I was apprenticed as an engineer and spent 40 years in the manufacturing industry, for many years in senior management roles. In that time I enjoyed designing and developing most of all, though it was never a major part of my working life. I began working as a wood turner about 15 years ago then took on a studio at Grenaby. With the influence of other artists I began to develop my thoughts, combining turning with carving. I love the forms found in nature and they have a profound influence on my work"

One of Graham's very special pieces was created for the Coronation of King Charles from a fallen Elm tree in woodland near Tynwald Hill. Graham said "I was honoured to take on this special commission, which reflects the King’s passion for sustainability and the natural world, where I take my inspiration."
You can find more information about Graham via his social media page or visit the Grenaby Studios page.
