“Ellyn” is a collaborative art book that aims to celebrate and cherish the Isle of Man in the form of contemporary fine art. Comprising of 66 of the Isle of Man’s local artists and in partnership with UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man, the book will be packed with a vast range of artwork that all respond to the brief, “Isle of Man”.

The Isle of Man Arts Council is in proud partnership with UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man and we are working together on this project.

UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man’s aim is to celebrate our unique sense of place and ‘what makes us Mann’. It encourages us to connect with, and enjoy, our environment, culture and community - and tell their story creatively.

Geoffrey Boot MHK, Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture, said: "“Our Biosphere celebrates our unique sense of place, one that has inspired generations of artists to tell its story creatively. This exciting new collaboration encourages contemporary artists to create works that demonstrate what the Isle of Man means to them today.”

"Being a part of the Ellyn project means so much to me. Contemporary Fine Art has been a passion of mine for at least two decades and having to discover what makes Isle of Man that special place through the work of many talented artists is a dream come true."

Lina from TA Designs

We are delighted to be working with Words & Spaces as our official book printers.

"Neil from Words and Spaces has been great throughout this project and so helpful with our countless requests! We have really enjoyed working with them and no doubt they will do a great job bringing Ellyn to life”

Olivia Savage, Arts Graduate Intern

“The continued development of the Arts on the Isle of Man is of huge importance to us at the Harbour Lights Group. With two venues in the heart of the cultural quarter (Harbour Lights at the Sefton and Sir Norman’s Theatre Bar) we are aware, perhaps more than most, of the depth and breadth of artistic talent on the Island. The Island has a rich history of artistic excellence, and we are proud that our sponsorship will contribute in a small way to highlighting the brilliant contemporary artists practicing on Island”.
