With another funding deadline coming up we've prepared a short guide about how to prepare for funding.

Types of funding

First of all you need to decide which type of funding is right for you. We currently offer four different funding streams which are: Grants, Travel Grants, Underwriting, and Covid Resilience Funding.

Grants

Apply for this is you are creating, producing and/or presenting your work to the public or if you need to purchase equipment to help you in your arts discipline.

Travel Grants

Apply for this is you need help to cover the costs of travel and accommodation to participate in an event such as a festival or competition off island.

Underwriting

Underwriting is a guarantee against loss for an event. Apply for this if you are putting on a ticketed event or workshop that is arts related.

Student Awards

Our Student Awards are awarded to three students moving into or currently in further or higher education. The three awards are each worth £10,000 over the duration of a course. You can find out more about them and when applications are open here.

What you need

Next, you need to gather all the relevant information you need to make an application. Do this before starting the application process as it will make things much easier for you when you come to fill in an application and submit online.

Without the following attachments you will not be able to complete (and therefore submit) your application:

  • Evidence of all costings that are being requested (Screen shots or copy of quotes are fine)
  • Marketing Plan (Document stating how people will find out about your project or event e.g social media, posters, newspaper articles)
  • CV/History of your event society or CV of individual applying
  • Two independent referees
  • Copy of latest available accounts (Only relevant for societies or clubs)

The application won’t submit until all the fields and attachments required are added. It won’t let you proceed without completing every box or adding attachments. If you have all the documents ready and complete the application all in one go it will upload everything and will tell you at the top of the form what percentage of the application is complete. Once reached 100% it will submit.
