The Spark
The Spark is back!
We're delighted to announce that, after 18 months of hard work, the first six episodes of The Spark - Isle of Man Depression Support Web Series will be released on Youtube on Monday 6th December from 6pm (episodes will release every 15 mins).
This project has been a labour of love for everyone involved, and we couldn't be more excited for you to see the first part of this (hopefully) ongoing series. In our first six episodes, we aim to help, guide, hope and support those who suffer from depression, as well as carers, friends and family of those who might be going through similar issues.
During the series, there are interviews with Adam Hudgeon of REACH IOM, life coach Karl Bovenizer, counsellor Karen Quayle, as well as Jenny herself offering insight and solidarity. None of the interviewees, or James Davis as interviewer were paid for their work in this series, and the funding was used for production costs alone.
At the end of each episode, as well as on the Spark website (https://thesparkiom.wixsite.com/home), there are a list of resources and organisations to contact if you feel you are going through tough times.
This series wouldn't have happened without the contributions of Adam, Karl and Karen, as well as interviewer James Davis. Behind the scenes, the series was produced by Dark Avenue Film, shot by Harry Henthorn and edited by Phoebe Knowles. Thank you also to Jeff Jepson, Ian Thompson, Matt Creer and Mera Royle for the use of their original music, and to Sean and Holly at VillaGaiety for the use of the Noble Suite.
We couldn't have made these episodes without all the backers and sponsors on GoFundMe and beyond, and the series was also backed by Isle of Man Arts Council.
We would like to make more, but we need your help! In order to make more episodes, cover more topics and discuss more ways in which people can try and help themselves come to terms with their depression, we need the funding to cover the production costs involved in producing professional quality content. If you or your business can help, please send us an email on TheSparkIOM@hotmail.com.
Please share the series out when it is released; if it can help one person, then it's a huge success!
